Barbara’s Expert Approach to Financial Advisement
Barbara operates a fee-based practice in partnership with Mark D. Richards, CFP®, CIMA®. This structure ensures she is able to give her clients responsive, year-round attention, backed by team support and a range of expertise.

At the launch of a new client relationship, Barbara uses her strength for listening to connect with her client and gain necessary details for creating a full analysis of the current financial position. The approach is results-focused, comprehensive and always customized.

With more than 30 years of experience in financial consulting, Barbara is renowned as a leader and mentor in her field. Mark D. Richards, CFP®, CIMA®

Financial Planner, Partner

Licenses & Certifications:
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, CFP®
CIMA® (Certified Investment Management Analyst)
Licensed Insurance Agent
Registered Securities Representative

Meet Mark D. Richards, CFP®, CIMA®
Mark Richards is a trusted advisor for clients seeking personalized wealth management strategies. With unique expertise in resolving complicated financial challenges, Mark is adept in guiding his clients through in-the-moment issues and long-term planning so that they can achieve their financial goals and provide security for their families.

Mark’s Core Strengths and Philosophy
Mark is a problem-solver who excels in finding—or creating—solutions to enable positive outcomes. Early in his professional life, he used this innate strength in his role on the leadership team for a startup telecommunications company. Though just out of college, Mark was highly successful thanks to his core ability to “fix things” and innovate ways to grow an enterprise. Today, he uses those same abilities to address the financial needs and goals of his clients. From Mark’s viewpoint, it’s essential to know how and why tools and tactics work, as much as it’s important to know when to implement those things. This perspective serves as a significant differentiator for Mark, as his clients are assured every aspect of their financial planning is reviewed and recommended with great research and intelligence. As Mark says, if he “can’t understand it, articulate it or believe in it,” he will not use it in his strategy for clients.

Mark’s Expert Approach to Financial Advisement
Mark builds relationships with his clients so that he understands their priorities, financial habits, short term needs, and long term objectives. Even as he addresses present concerns his new clients might have, he develops comprehensive, strategic plans for achieving lifelong goals. By staying in consistent, ongoing communication with his clients, he’s able to offer personalized, responsive service and advice at every season of life. Mark’s fee-based practice is powered with the support of the entire Radnor Wealth Management team to offer comprehensive, ongoing client service. He and partner Barbara Richards work jointly, often meeting together with clients, to provide fully informed decisions backed by their unique perspectives and areas of expertise.

Mark’s Education and Career History
After earning his BS in physics from Belmont University and spending more than seven years as a manager in the telecommunications industry, Mark ultimately felt led to pursue financial planning as his career path. He completed the rigorous Financial Planner Program at Belmont University and fulfilled all the requirements to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner (CFP®), earned the Certified Investment Management AnalystTM (CIMA®) designation, became a Registered Securities Representative and licensed insurance agent, and launched Radnor Wealth Management of Commonwealth Financial Network in 2015 to advance his financial planning services to families, as well as individual and business owners.

Mark off the Clock
Mark, his wife Shellie, their three children, and two dogs stay very busy with work, school, community, and family activities from their home base in Nashville.
